Laban Pheidias Laban Pheidias
Laban Pheidias, cameraman and lifelong vegetarian, has been a professional skateboarder for the past 14 years. He turned pro at the age of 19, and it didn't take him long to get behind the camera. Laban began creating and filming skateboarding videos and produced segments for early action-sports shows like Invert TV and Bluetorch. On his reel, you'll also catch the work he's done on Jackass with Jeff Tremaine, along with independent projects with Steve-O and Jason Weeman Acuna. Laban brings the vision of an experienced filmmaker and a unique insight into the "Warped" youth culture.

Dave Bergthold Dave Bergthold
David Bergthold, documentary director, is on board for his second project with PETA. Dave founded Blockhead Skateboards in 1985 and has been directing and producing skateboarding videos since 1989. Since founding the video-production company Smash Technologies, Dave has produced numerous segments for both Invert and Bluetorch TV—both airing on Fox Sports. Dave has also worked with Transworld, Vans, Hawk Clothing, Zumiez, Fuel TV, PETA, and American Misfits. In addition to his talents as a filmmaker, Dave is renowned for his legendary skateboard ramps.

Cast Bios

Jason Bayless Jason Bayless
Jason Bayless, PETA's senior youth outreach specialist, has toured with the Vans Warped Tour for the past four years. His efforts to reach the youth population have been integral to the growth of peta2's youth-marketing efforts. Jason's work as an animal advocate is nothing short of extraordinary. Growing up on a farm in rural Texas, Jason was exposed at an early age to the cruelty that animals are subjected to by the humans who exploit them. He now uses his experiences and voice to urge others to stand up for what they know is right. Jason's always game for a little controversy, and his antics on this tour will not disappoint.

The A.K.A.s
After endless booth-signings, countless camera flashes, and a video release party at a skate park in Tampa, The A.K.A.s stole our spotlight and, alternatively, we stole theirs. Who’s with peta2 and who’s with The A.K.A.s? One just never knows anymore (Hint: we’re better looking).

Bleed The Dream
From day one, guitarist Dave Aguilera vowed to go vegan on tour. He experienced the jolly good fun of being harassed by his girlfriend, his bandmates, and even the catering staff. But guess who didn’t harass him? That’s right—we didn’t. See if he made it through without too many bumps, bruises, and throwdowns.

D.O.R.K.
With a name like that and a track on the American Pie 4 soundtrack, we knew we would be fast friends. We were right—it was instant chemistry. Especially when we learned that these guys know how to party. Watch the Sidekicks come out and play. Watch the champagne pour. Watch the sparks fly.

Emery
After a torrential downpour at Buffalo’s Six Flags amusement park, we decided to nab Joel for a few crazy rides with several other Warped bands in hot pursuit. The best part was standing in line and watching the family atmosphere all of a sudden turn very dark and tattooed. Kids stared. Parents looked away in disgust. The day was ours.

The Eyeliners
It’s not often that musicians have the chance to show off some of their other skills. So when Jason challenged Gel to a Miss Pac-Man competition, she was sure she’d impress fans with her many talents. It was fierce. It was ugly. There were tears. Find out who won.

Goldfinger
John Feldmann has been with peta2 from the onset. He’s always down for something—interviews, radio public service announcements, online tour diaries, rescuing lobsters from restaurant death tanks … the list goes on. This time around, we took John along on a rowdy Neiman Marcus demo. Let the games begin!

Hawthorne Heights
Y’know. We thought we were friends. But in retrospect, we’ve foolishly realized that Casey used us for our stencils all along. We know it and he knows it. Bands suffer from groupies—we suffer from stencil-mongers. Life is hard. Especially when there’s readily available spray-paint at hand.

Opiate for the Masses
After their incessant begging, we agreed to let Opiate for the Masses cut us in line at Six Flags. But only because we thought it’d be funny to watch their hair get windblown. And because they threatened us. Then there was the thought that if we kissed their ass, they might sniff ours, considering Ron is vegetarian and Head is vegan.

Silverstein
The guys from Silverstein spent so much time signing at our booth that we were worried they wouldn’t be able to play because of their severe writer’s cramp. Of course, they proved us completely wrong and gave their adoring fans tons to scream about … then did more signings. We love them.

Story of the Year
We tailed Adam throughout the tour. He’s still pretty. That’s all you need to know.

Street Drum Corps
S.T.U.N. drummer Bobby Alt was very patient with us. Not only did he agree to hang the peta2 banner at his booth, but he also let us follow him around with our camera crew. Plus, his side project, SDC, was a Warped highlight, especially when The Used’s Bert McCracken hopped on board.

Strike Anywhere
Thomas, the lead singer for Strike Anywhere, is so smart and sweet, and he’s vegan. Not only did he give props to peta2 while on stage, but he also signed and gave away skate decks at the peta2 booth. Things always get crazy when these guys play, so if you’re not in the mood to mosh, you’d better stay home.

Valient Thorr
We spent an evening with these dudes just to see how “valiant” they really are. Pleasantly, it was not an evening lost. These guys told us some crazy stories and drank Jägermeister like … well, like we can. Champs—that’s all we’re saying.
